Talk about luck on your side. A Burnsville man has won €/$ 5 million on the very first lottery ticket he ever bought, according to a State Lottery report.

Burnsville resident Jarett Allen stopped at Riverside General Store with his father and picked up a €/$ 30 “200X The Cash” scratch-off. Or rather, his dad picked it out for him. Moments later, Allen was staring at a life-changing win.
“It was the first lottery ticket I’ve ever bought,” Allen said. “I didn’t think it was real. I thought I wasn’t looking at it right.”
The next day, Allen claimed his prize. He chose the one-time lump sum of €/$ 3 million over 20 years of €/$ 250,000 annual payments. After state and federal taxes, he collected €/$ 2,152,508.
Allen says his first priority is helping out his parents before investing the rest.

His win also closes the book on the “200X The Cash” game, launched in March 2022 with six €/$ 5 million grand prizes and 18 prizes of €/$ 100,000. Allen became the sixth and final big winner, officially ending the scratch-off run.
